LGBTQ+ Support for domestic abuse survivors
Every Friday at the Newport Pride Center from 1:00 - 3:00 PM, Elizabeth, the LGBTQ+ advocate at the Women's Resource Center, hosts walk-in hours for anyone needing domestic violence assistance.

LGBTQ Discrimination in the Workplace
LGBTQ workplace discrimination involves treating any employee unfavorably based on their actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity, regardless of whether they are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or heterosexual. Harassing an employee for being gay—even if they aren’t—or because they have a transgender child also constitutes workplace discrimination. This resource offers more information on discrimination in the workplace and what you can do about.

Picking Up The Pieces
Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center‘s LGBTQ+ Advocacy program was created to provide services to fit the needs of the LGBTQ+ community, victims, and survivors in regard to their situation involving domestic violence or sexual assault.
